LAS VEGAS, Nevada—April 13, 2020 - Bob Zeidman, author, inventor and entrepreneur, is proud to announce the winners of the sixth annual Zeidman Awards. The awards recognize middle school students who demonstrate an advanced knowledge of electronics or computer programming to solve challenges in a unique and efficient manner.
The award recipients were selected from entries in the 2020 Synopsys Science & Technology Championship, where hundreds of students from Santa Clara County, California displayed their projects and explained them remotely to the judges. Zeidman reviewed all the project descriptions, selected the most promising, interviewed the students behind the projects remotely, and then selected the winners.
"As a student who loved science and technology, it was always encouraging when my experiments and inventions were appreciated and rewarded, so I wanted to give that experience to these deserving students," said Zeidman. "I'll be able to look back at their achievements years from now and know that I helped in some small way."
Zeidman specifically wanted to thank the volunteers from the Santa Clara Valley Science and Engineering Fair Association who run this great event each year. This year was particularly difficult, yet in very little time they were able to set up remote connections to all the students and coordinate interviews with all of the judges for all of the various awards. It went off more smoothly than anyone anticipated.
Awards included cash prizes, a brunch with Bob Zeidman to be held sometime in the future, and signed copies of Zeidman's book, Just Enough Electronics to Impress Your Friends and Colleagues!
